First Home Buyers – Gair up for home ownership at Gair Ave

If you are a first home buyer that has been disheartened that you are contending with investors and families who already have the benefit of established wealth, there is some exciting news for you on the horizon.  The Central Otago District Council (CODC) has confirmed that the first stage of the new Gair Avenue subdivision, currently undergoing earthworks, will be initially only offered to first home buyers – in either bare land or affordable land & house packages. When first home buyers are competing with seasoned homeowners with cash and equity to spare, this is a welcome initiative by CODC.  It will result in more people out of the rental cycle and onto the ladder of home ownership.

Having been through the process myself, I can relate to any questions and concerns first home buyers may have. I understand how daunting the process of getting into home ownership can seem to those who are entirely green. That’s why at Southern Peak Law, we adapt our advice to plain English and it’s tailored to your level of understanding.

It doesn’t have to be daunting when you have a professional assisting you the whole way through. Having a good lawyer on your team can make or break your purchasing experience. The friendly team at Southern Peak Law are available to help make your dream of home ownership a reality, stress-free.

CODC has said more information will follow on how to purchase these sections mid-2025. We should see details released very soon. Watch this space
