Our Dreams

Doreen

Doreen enjoys helping the communities she lives and works to achieve their dreams:

“Rocking with the Stars” where $22,000.00 was raised to support Ronald McDonald Family Room Southland Hospital and the Invercargill Rock n Roll Club.

“Building a Rotary Dream” where a house was built in Invercargill and sold raising approximately $200,000.00 for Breathing Spaces Trust that assist the homeless in Southland.

Lot 47 – Cromwell Community Project where Rotary and Lions together with the community built a house and sold it at auction to help fund the shortfall for St John new station of $243,000. A lot more was raised, as the home sold for $1,205,000.00, which will enable further help to be given to St John and the community. Amazing result!

Adam’s dream outside of work is to build a project car for dedicated off-roading, to travel and to explore the world.

His professional dream is to gain practical and useful legal knowledge to build on his legal career

Kylie

Kylie and her family have recently achieved one of their dreams to build their own home here in Cromwell and have recently moved in and are loving living in their new home. Who knows what the next chapter will bring for Kylie and her family.

Lynda

Lynda and her husband moved to Central Otago 12 years ago, to a small lifestyle block on which they built a new home.

They enjoy the outdoors and their property. They have fulfilled their dream of having one of their daughters marry on the property.

Lynda loves the social scene that comes along with living in Central Otago and embraces meeting new people.

Bonnie

Bonnie’s dream – ‘Believe you can and you’re half-way there’

When Bonnie was young, she always wanted to be a lawyer. This was genuinely to help people. To help them achieve fairness and equity across various situations and to resolve difficult matters. After clocking up 10 years of law firm experience, Bonnie’s dream was to become a law firm Partner or Director. She wanted to help set a great firm culture, with engaged and ambitious lawyers and excellent outcomes and service for clients. Along with her practical skills, commercial awareness, creativity and leadership ability, Bonnie considers herself lucky to have met Doreen Evans. Doreen has helped to make Bonnie’s dream come true.

Gill

Gill and her husband have had a long time dream to own a small lifestyle block in Central Otago.

That dream was realised recently and they are looking forward to building a new home alongside the existing cottage on the property. There’s nothing like an exciting and challenging project which this certainly is.

Ella

Before attending University, Ella was working for Doreen unsure of what career she wanted to pursue. Doreen believed Ella would excel as a lawyer and suggested University. Ella’s dream now is to complete her law degree and begin working full time at Southern Peak Law. She is grateful of Doreen and the inspiration and direction she gave her.

Ella’s dream outside of work is to complete a full marathon.
